I didnt say trash

Didi did not finish her milk today and Ma doesn't like to throw away food. So, she was not happy about it. But Didi's tummy was too full to take even one more sip.
Mom (in an upset tone) - You should only pour as much as you can finish. Why did you take SO much. Now who will drink the rest of the milk?
Me - the sink will drink it.
And I just walked away.
Later on didi told me that my answer cooled down Ma instantly. Glad I could help :)

Click!

I'm pretty good at surprising everyone because of my memory - I remember things from way back when I was so little. Yes, I'm a big girl. I'm 5 now!

After the snowfall yesterday, the drive to my school did look like a scene from the Frozen movie. And Ma did not miss the chance to capture it, WHILE driving.

That made me a bit upset and I told my mom if she doesn't focus on her driving we might end up getting a flat tire, the way a family friend of ours did a few months back. Ma was surprised and asked - how do you remember everything? And more importantly how do you relate to things so quickly.

Finally I gave away my special secret, I said - whenever someone tells me or I see anything important, I take a picture of it 'CLICK' and store it in my brain. And when someone is talking to me I search in those pictures and take out the one that's related to it.
I don't know why but Ma was so surprised to hear my answer that she shared the conversation with Daddy. But Dadda's reaction was very casual. He dusted it off saying she must have seen something similar in some cartoon. But that wasn't true, so I had to explain it further and I told them - Noooo I didn't see it anywhere. I downloaded these apps in my brain long back. Camera app was one of them and I've taken pictures using it since I was little. I delete some pictures when they are blur but I keep most of them. Its too bad that I don't have any games downloaded in my brain.

This answer sure made Daddy believe that my response was original!!

Impromptu

Everyone in the family is always amazed by my thinking - impromptu as they say it.

Today Mamma and me reached home and were waiting in the garage for Chechi and Dadda to return from school. Just so I don't get bored, mamma gave me a few yogurt covered raisins. Amongst those I found one which had 2 raisins stuck together, which for my age is pretty fascinating. I told Mamma I will not eat that and save it until Chechi comes so I can show it to her before eating.
I waited a bit, which believe me wasn't easy for me. After staring at that amazing raisin for a couple of minutes I lost my patience.
My solution to this problem - Mamma can you please take a picture of this and show it to Chechi, so I can eat it right away :)

Walking

After we were done shopping at BJs mamma and me were rushing to reach BalVihar as Dadda was going to get a trophy for being a good teacher. We were headed towards our car and mamma was walking fast, holding my hand, and constantly saying - "walk Tanya walk, walk, walk". I heard it a few times and then suddenly paused and told her "See my feet? They are moving. That means I'm walking. Okay?"

Hearing this she smiled, apologized, and genuinely started walking (not running!)

Silly Goose

Dadda stayed home with Chechi today as she was not feeling good, spring allergies were bothering her too much. Mamma switched the car with Dadda's and we both were on our way to daycare/office. More than half way through I saw Mamma taking a U turn, which was unusual. On asking her, she said she forgot her laptop in the other car and needs to go back home to grab it. My response on hearing that was -

Happy 1st!

Everyone was greeting me differently today which was strange to me because I was completely unaware of the significance of the day. Mom and dad made sure chechi was the first one to wish me because they knew how much it meant to her - her baby sister turned one today!

Achamma and Mamma gave me a shower, dressed me up and I prayed with them. Achacha, Dadda, and Mamma rushed quickly to place the order for my birthday cake. As my Appachi (tuttu), hashu mama and taani vava were going to join the celebration in the evening chechi, Achacha & mamma started decorating the house and I was busy pretending to be a helper.

Meanwhile dadda went and picked the beautiful cake from the store.

Achamma gave me a pretty pink dress and as always Hashu Mama and Appachi loaded me with presents.
I was undoubtedly excited about what followed next - the cake cutting (mine and chechi's favorite part).

Time for some family pics.

The real celebration began after the cake cutting. We all went to the temple where Dadda and Achacha had organized the Annadaanam - it is an extremely pious act of giving away food to the needy people.

We also had some friends and family who joined us at the temple.

The best part about Annadaanam is the people bless the donor of the food. And what could be a better birthday present than blessings.

Thank you God for everything!
